The First Presidency has called the following sixteen new temple presidents and matrons. They will begin their service later this year.
Bern Switzerland Temple
Pierre M. Brenders, 66, Confluence Ward, Lyon France Stake, called as president of the Bern Switzerland Temple, succeeding President Frederik F. Psota. President Brender’s wife, Brigitte Brenders, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Berit Psota. He is the second counselor in the Bern Switzerland Temple presidency and a former stake president, bishop and branch president. Retired mathematics professor, he was born in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, France, to Laurent Antoine Pierre Brenders and Yvette Augustine Reydellet.
Sister Brenders is an assistant to the matron of the Bern Switzerland Temple and a former Primary teacher and temple ordinance worker. Born in Meknes, Morocco, to André Julien Henri Bouvet and Augusta Margueritte Robin.
Quetzaltenango Guatemala Temple
Reginaldo Manuel Bustillo Perla, 58, Los Altos Ward, Quetzaltenango Guatemala West Stake, called as president of the Quetzaltenango Guatemala Temple, succeeding President José M. Gálvez. President Bustillo’s wife, Liliam Rosario Améndola Antúnez de Bustillo, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Enohe Gálvez. He is the first counselor in the Quetzaltenango Guatemala Temple presidency and a former bishop and branch president. Independent businessman, he was born in La Ceiba, Atlántida, Honduras, to Reginaldo Manuel Bustillo Maldonado and María Melida Perla Salgado.
Sister Bustillo is an assistant to the matron of the Quetzaltenango Guatemala Temple and a former stake Relief Society and Primary president, and ward Young Women president. She was born in La Ceiba, Atlántida, Honduras, to Augusto Juan Améndola Midence and Alba Yolanda Antúnez Meráz.
Louisville Kentucky Temple
Edward Paul Daetwyler, 64, Crestwood 1st Ward, Crestwood Kentucky Stake, called as president of the Louisville Kentucky Temple, succeeding President John F. Cotton. President Daetwyler’s wife, Sally Ann Malin Daetwyler, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Robin B. Cotton. He is the first counselor in the Louisville Kentucky Temple presidency and a former stake president and bishop. Retired physician and surgeon, he was born in Schenectady, New York, to Harold Edward and Emily May Ralphs Daetwyler.
Sister Daetwyler is an assistant to the matron at the Louisville Kentucky Temple and a former stake Young Women presidency counselor and ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president. Born in Fontana, California, to Craig Orrock and Carol Crafts Malin.
San Diego California Temple
Kenneth Allen Ellsworth, 71, Penasquitos 3rd Ward, Penasquitos California Stake, called as president of the San Diego California Temple, succeeding President Dirk O. Jergensen. President Ellsworth’s wife, Jeraldene Lisonbee Ellsworth, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Laurie Z. Jergensen. He is a Primary teacher and temple ordinance worker and is a former stake president, bishop, welfare regional chairman and high councilor. Retired senior credit administrator, he was born in Maywood, California, to Karl Avanold and Beulah Mae Allen Ellsworth.

Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple
Ronald Burton Funk, 73, Spring Creek 1st Ward, Lehi Utah Stake, called as president of the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple, succeeding President Ralph W. Smith. President Funk’s wife, Wanda Lynne Walker Funk, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Elizabeth R. Smith. He is the first counselor in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple presidency and a former president of the Washington Spokane Mission, New Zealand Temple Visitors’ Center director, stake presidency counselor and bishop. Retired CPA, he was born in Monterrey Park, California, to Iven Verl and Mona Funk.
Sister Funk is an assistant to the matron of the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple, has served with her husband as he presided over the Washington Spokane Mission and the New Zealand Temple Visitors’ Center, and is a former stake Relief Society president and ward Young Women president. Born in Denver, Colorado, to Bernard Sanford and Wanda Arrowsmith Walker.
Madrid Spain Temple
Wayne Leroy Gardner, 69, Menlo Park Ward, Mesa Arizona Hermosa Vista Stake, called as president of the Madrid Spain Temple, succeeding President Carlos J. Somoza Díaz. President Gardner’s wife Teresa Richardson Gardner, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Rosario García González. He is a counselor in the Tijuana Mexico Temple presidency and a former president of the México Cuernavaca Mission and the Chile Santiago East Mission, bishop and branch president. Law firm founding member and legal advisor, he was born in Mesa, Arizona, to Lucius Levier Gardner Jr. and Edith Smith.
Sister Gardner is an assistant to the matron of the Tijuana Mexico Temple, has served with her husband as he presided over the México Cuernavaca Mission and is a former ward Young Women presidency counselor. Born in Forest Grove, Oregon, to Walter L. and Gloria Richardson.
Bogotá Colombia Temple
José Luis González Gutiérrez, 64, Los Alpes Ward, Pereira Colombia Stake, called as president of the Bogotá Colombia Temple, succeeding President Marío Rojas Leguizamo. President González’ wife, Mónica Del Carmen Buitrago de González, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Bethsy Castañeda de Rojas. He is a counselor in the Colombia Medellín Mission presidency and a former Area Seventy, Perú Missionary Training Center president, Costa Rica San José East Mission president and stake president. Retired production manager, he was born in Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia, to Manuel Felipe González and Martha Gutiérrez.
Sister González is an institute teacher and Pathway missionary, has served with her husband as he presided over the Perú Missionary Training Center and Costa Rica San José East Mission and is a former branch Young Women and Primary president and stake family history center director. Edmonton Alberta Temple
David James Henderson, 67, Clarkdale Ward, Edmonton Alberta Bonnie Doon Stake, called as president of the Edmonton Alberta Temple, succeeding President Darrel B. Harker. President Henderson’s wife, Janet Dianne Taylor Henderson, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Janae W. Harker. He is a patriarch and temple sealer and a former president of the California Ventura Mission, stake president, bishop and regional welfare specialist. Realtor, he was born in Cardston, Alberta, to Norman William and Margaret Clayton Henderson.

Robin Frederick Hill, 72, Paralowie Ward, Adelaide Australia Modbury Stake, called as president of the Adelaide Australia Temple, succeeding President Jouni Soininen. President Hill’s wife, Lorelei Anne Knight Hill, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Christina Soininen. He is the second counselor in the Adelaide Australia Temple presidency and a former bishop, high councilor and executive secretary. Caracas Venezuela Temple
José Ignacio Rivero Sequera, 75, El Valle Ward, Caracas Venezuela Los Teques Stake, called as president of the Caracas Venezuela Temple, succeeding President Álvaro J. Pineda. President Rivero’s wife, Alida Coromoto Moreno de Rivero, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister María C. Pineda.
