Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, as well as in chapels and homes around the world, to participate in the 188th Semiannual General Conference on Oct. 6-7.
During the historic conference, President Russell M. Nelson emphasized the correct name of the Church and announced a new focus on "home-centered, Church supported" instruction, requiring a new Sunday meeting schedule. The women's session of general conference was also held for the first time on Saturday evening, between the Saturday and Sunday general sessions.
