As part of several social media posts this week, Church leaders focused on divine identity, the strength of Church members and following the Holy Spirit.
Sharing a portion of his general conference address, Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles addressed the questions: “Why does a just God allow bad things to happen, especially to good people? And why are those who are righteous and in the Lord’s service not immune to such tragedies?”
Posting about her experience of traveling in Israel with a broken foot, President Emily Belle Freeman shared two lessons she learned:
“But there was a second lesson. About the Spirit. How it works quietly and consistently along the way. Sometimes whispering only the part you need right now, with the promise of more guidance to come.”
Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared his experience visiting the Latter-day Saints in Vietnam for the first time.
“Spending time with these wonderful followers of Jesus Christ has reminded me of how the gospel of Jesus Christ has the capacity to change nations by changing the hearts and lives of the individuals who live there.”
Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles posted a reminder from his general conference address and invited all to share their experiences.
“A few weeks ago during general conference, I asked you to pause as you look in the mirror and remind yourself, ‘I am amazing! I am a child of God! He knows me! He loves me! I am gifted. Gifted with the Holy Ghost as my constant companion!’”
