Announcement of the Brussels Belgium Temple
President Russell M. Nelson, 17th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, announced the Brussels Belgium Temple on April 4, 2021, during the Sunday afternoon session of April 2021 general conference.
The construction phase for the Brussels Belgium Temple will begin Nov. 22, 2025, with Elder Jack N. Gerard — a General Authority Seventy and first counselor in the Europe Central Area presidency — presiding at the site dedication. Since the Brussels temple is being built in an existing metropolitan area building, no groundbreaking or turning of the soil will take place. The site dedication ceremony — to be held inside the building — will include a short program and dedicatory prayer.
