A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was part of the University of Michigan’s national football championship victory in Houston, Texas, on Monday, Jan. 8.
Andrew Gentry , a sophomore offensive lineman from Littleton, Colorado, saw limited action during the game on Michigan’s special teams as the Wolverines defeated the University of Washington Huskies, 34-13 , to finish the season 15-0 and claim the school’s first national title since 1997.
Gentry served a full-time mission in Orem, Utah , and currently serves as first counselor in the bishopric of his young single adult ward in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
