Want to attend the temple as a group? You can now schedule group appointments online

Online group scheduling is available for all proxy ordinances at churchofjesuschrist.org/temples/schedule/appointment

Latter-day Saints may now schedule group appointments for all proxy ordinances using the online system for temple appointments at ChurchofJesusChrist.org. The system previously only allowed group appointments for proxy baptism and sealing ordinances.

This new feature — found at churchofjesuschrist.org/temples/schedule/appointment — will be a welcome addition for family and friends wanting to attend the temple together. Larger groups such as wards and stakes are asked to continue reservations by email or phone.

President Russell M. Nelson taught, “The assaults of the adversary are increasing exponentially, in intensity and in variety. Our need to be in the temple on a regular basis has never been greater. ... If you have reasonable access to a temple, I urge you to find a way to make an appointment regularly with the Lord — to be in His holy house — then keep that appointment with exactness and joy. I promise you that the Lord will bring the miracles He knows you need as you make sacrifices to serve and worship in His temples,” (“Becoming Exemplary Latter-day Saints,” October 2018 general conference).

Group scheduling process

When scheduling an appointment, check the box labeled “additional people” and enter the number of male and female members that are invited. Maximum group sizes vary by temple and are based on capacity.

Temple workers will see the appointment when guests check in at the recommend desk and will be better able to direct guests when they arrive.

Temple appointments will continue to be available by emailing or calling the temple.

About temples

Temples are houses of the Lord and the most sacred spaces of worship on earth. They are not the same as the Church’s meetinghouses. All are welcome to attend Sunday worship services and other weekday activities at a meetinghouse. In temples, something different occurs. Faithful Latter-day Saints participate in sacred ceremonies, called ordinances, both for themselves and on behalf of deceased ancestors. These ceremonies teach the purpose of life and unite families, past and present.

The mere presence of temples in communities around the globe reminds Latter-day Saints of the importance of faith in the common Father of all humanity, the need for constant improvement of the soul, the possibility of family relationships that reach beyond the grave, and the salvation that comes only through the grace of Jesus Christ.
