With busy schedules traveling around the world to meet with Latter-day Saints as well as with leaders of governments, other religions and organizations, life on the road — or in the air — can often be tiring for leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Kathy Christofferson, accompanied President Russell M. Nelson during his Southeast Asia ministry in November. They recently shared with the Church News why traveling — for them — isn't as tiring as people often assume.

While flying around the globe can be exhausting, "there's something about being with the members of the Church" that makes it easier somehow, Sister Christofferson explains in the video interview. "It's just phenomenal to be in their presence. And we draw so much energy from them, I mean it's rejuvenating ... it's such a blessing."
Looking at his wife after hearing her answer, Elder Christofferson adds an enthusiastic "Amen."

"People are wonderful. People are all children of God," he says, noting that both their love for and energy from people while traveling extends beyond just the members of the Church.
With everyone they meet, whether heads of state or people on the street, it doesn't matter, Elder Christofferson explains. "People are wonderful. Every soul is precious."
