Me Ra Koh, a prominent photographer widely known for her and her husband’s Fioria professional photography studio, will be a keynote speaker at RootsTech 2023, FamilySearch announced Thursday, Feb. 16, in a blog post.
Koh, who is also a motivational speaker, will share her inspiring personal story at the global family history gathering held both in Salt Lake City, Utah, and online at RootsTech.org March 2-4.
Koh’s in-person keynote is scheduled for Friday, March 3. Those watching online can also view it live, for free, on the RootsTech site. Register for RootsTech at RootsTech.org.
Who is Me Ra Koh?
There was a time early in Koh’s life when she faced personal tragedy, was homeless and spent time in a psychiatric hospital.
From those trials Koh emerged to become a renowned photographer who has been featured on Oprah, “Live with Kelly and Ryan” and other television shows.
She is a bestselling author, Disney Channel host, and one of one of the first two women photographers to be Sony-sponsored.
Her family portraiture work has been featured in galleries in London, New York, and Los Angeles, and published in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, Martha Stewart, Parenting, and Women’s World.
Koh and her husband Brian Tausend are the parents of two children and live in Frisco, Texas. She and her husband are the co-owners of Fioria portrait studio, whose sole purpose, she says, is to celebrate people’s resilience.
“Through her work on television, online and in person, Me Ra has inspired millions of viewers around the world,” said Jonathan Wing, RootsTech creative manager. “We cannot wait for her to inspire our RootsTech audience.”
