Elder Bednar shares a day in the life of an Apostle, part 2

New video shows Elder David A. Bednar on assignment after part 1 in the office

What do Apostles do while traveling for an ecclesiastical assignment? How do they minister and teach in different cities?

Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared a behind-the-scenes look at a day in the life of an Apostle on assignment.

In August, Elder Bednar posted part one with a look at a day in his life in the office. On Thursday, Nov. 30, Elder Bednar posted part two with a video on Facebook and Instagram from a recent assignment in central Utah.

He brought viewers along as he and his wife, Sister Susan A. Bednar, were in the cities of Ephraim and Delta.

On a Saturday morning, he met with local priesthood leaders for two hours.

“We discussed their roles in how we can better help members of the Church come unto the Savior and progress along the covenant path,” Elder Bednar said.

They discussed the same thing in the next two-hour meeting with stake and ward leaders from each organization.

The last meeting that day was a devotional with youth — who filled two stake centers. The youth submitted questions on topics ranging from repentance to patriarchal blessings to fellowshipping less active friends.

Após a reunião, eles dirigiram até uma segunda sede de estaca para cumprimentar os santos ali reunidos. Depois foram de carro até Ephraim, Utah, para um devocional no Ephraim Institute of Religion, adjacente ao Snow College.

“After the devotional ended, Sister Bednar and I loved meeting some of the incredible youth of the Church,” Elder Bednar said.

On Sunday, the Bednars drove two hours to a combined stake conference with both stakes in Delta.

“I always appreciate the opportunity to bear my witness of the living reality and divinity of the Father and of the Son,” Elder Bednar said.

Following the meeting, they drove to a second stake center to greet the Saints gathered there. Then they drove to Ephraim, Utah, for a devotional at the Ephraim Institute of Religion adjacent to Snow College.

Elder Bednar said he also had the blessing of making a few ministering visits during the weekend.

“I admire the faith of the members and families we meet everywhere we go. We love you and appreciate your dedication to follow the Lord Jesus Christ,” he said.

Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson shared a similar video in August about what it is like to serve as the Relief Society general president.

The videos give a seldom-seen look at the daily work done by Church leaders and underscore the way they counsel with many others on a regular basis as part of their callings to build the Church and testify of Jesus Christ.
