Video: Celebrate President Nelson’s 99th birthday with a look back on his lifetime

Special birthday video shows President Russell M. Nelson through the years with family, friends, colleagues and members of the Church around the world

On Sept. 9, 2023, President Nelson turns 99 years old. Russell Marion Nelson was born Sept. 9, 1924, in Salt Lake City, the son of Marion C. and Edna Anderson Nelson.

President Nelson was set apart as the 17th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Jan. 14, 2018, after serving 34 years in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. In addition to his service as an Apostle, he is known for his long and esteemed medical career.
