New temple president and matron called to serve in Guatemala

The following new temple president and matron have been called to serve by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in November.

Gonzalo E. and Sonia B. García-Salas | Intellectual Reserve, Inc.

Gonzalo Eduardo García-Salas Gálvez, 73, Los Altos Ward, Quetzaltenango Guatemala West Stake, called as president of the Quetzaltenango Guatemala Temple, succeeding President Reginaldo M. Bustillo. President García-Salas’ wife, Sonia Elizabeth Bonilla de García-Salas, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Liliam R. Améndola de Bustillo. He is a counselor in the Quetzaltenango Guatemala Temple presidency and a former patriarch, stake presidency counselor and bishop. Retired Church Educational System coordinator, he was born in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, to Eduardo Arturo García- Salas Tejeda and Marta Trinidad Gálvez.

Sister García-Salas is an assistant to the matron at the Quetzaltenango Guatemala Temple and a former ward Relief Society president and teacher. She was born in Guatemala, to Raymundo Onofre Bonilla Marroquín and Josefa Edelmira Gálvez Paz.
