Changes to the leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced in October 2022 are reflected in an updated chart of general authorities and general officers, available to view or download in English, Spanish or Portuguese below.
During the Saturday afternoon session of the 192nd Semiannual General Conference, President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor in the First Presidency, announced that eight General Authority Seventies have been released and given emeritus status.
The eight — who have turned or will turn 70 years old in 2022 — are Elder Weatherford T. Clayton, Elder LeGrand R. Curtis Jr., Elder Randy D. Funk, Elder Christoffel Golden, Elder Walter F. González, Elder Larry S. Kacher, Elder Lynn G. Robbins and Elder Joseph W. Sitati.
The week prior to October’s general conference, the First Presidency announced the call of six new Area Seventies. The The announcement and sustaining were done Thursday, Sept. 29, during the October 2022 general conference leadership meetings.
In the April 2022 general conference, new Relief Society and Primary presidencies were sustained and their service began on Aug. 1.
The new Relief Society general presidency members are President Camille N. Johnson with Sister J. Anette Dennis as first counselor, and Sister Kristin M. Yee as second counselor. The new Primary general presidency members are President Susan H. Porter, with Sister Amy A. Wright as first counselor, and Sister Tracy Y. Browning as second counselor.
President Johnson previously served as the Primary general president with counselors Sister Porter and Sister Wright.
Relief Society General President Jean B. Bingham and her counselors, Sister Sharon Eubank and Sister Reyna I. Aburto, who were sustained in April 2017, completed their service as the Relief Society general presidency on July 31.
