President Oaks emphasizes ‘the most glorious of all messages to mankind’ in social media post

In a social media post on Jan. 2, President Oaks encourages individuals to now look forward to Easter

One day after Church President Russell M. Nelson encouraged members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to attend the temple to draw closer to the Savior this year, his first counselor in the First Presidency, President Dallin H. Oaks, invited his social media followers to look forward to “the most glorious of all messages to mankind” — Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In a post published on Facebook, Instagram and X, formerly Twitter, on Jan. 2, President Oaks noted that all who worship Jesus Christ honor His birth — Christmas — and His Resurrection — Easter.

“The prophets and teachings of the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints affirm that Jesus Christ came forth out of the grave and lives today as a resurrected Being,” President Oaks wrote.

“Similarly, because of Christ’s Atonement, all who have ever lived on this earth will also be resurrected, in order to live forever as resurrected beings (see 1 Corinthians 15:22; Alma 40:23).”

Last January, President Oaks also posted on social media about Jesus Christ, testifying of His Second Coming. “Jesus Christ lives. I testify that He shall come, as He has promised,” he wrote.

On New Year’s Day, President Nelson marked the 25th anniversary of “The Living Christ” document by extending an invitation “to come to the temple as often as your circumstances allow.”
