Many social media posts by general authorities and general officers of the Church this week reflected on Christmas and associated gifts and thoughts.
“The gift of the Son of God is a priceless gift,” tweeted President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor in the First Presidency. On Dec. 15, he bore his testimony that Christ “offers divine love, lasting hope, and true joy.”

President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, posted on Dec. 12 that the best gift to give is getting oneself and others closer to the Savior this Christmas. He tweeted: “Throughout His life, He brought countless souls to the gospel. He has asked us to do the same.”
The Lord's birth was the beginning of an inspiring earthly ministry. Throughout His life, He brought countless souls to the gospel. He has asked us to do the same. Find ways to get yourself and others closer to Christ this Christmas. That is the best gift you can give. pic.twitter.com/vCykSQL3VY

Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson and Primary General President Susan H. Porter recognized that this time of year may be joyful for some and difficult for others. On Instagram they encouraged all to serve.
On Dec. 11, they said: “Find a way to share kindness that works for your family and your situation. You don’t need to add anything to your to-do list. The Spirit will help you know how you can lift others together.”
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared a video of him and Sister Harriet Uchtdorf at German Christkindlmarkt at This Is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City on Dec. 11.
He tweeted: “This holiday season, lift your voices and fill your hearts with the joy and gratitude that Christ is the Prince of Peace. He lives, bringing light and life into the world. He is our Redeemer and our Savior at Christmas and always.”

On Dec. 14, Elder Uchtdorf posted another video on Facebook, in celebration of his and Sister Uchtdorf’s 60th anniversary. He said, “What a wonderful thing that the family we have built together can be united for eternity, thanks to the Savior Jesus Christ.”
On Dec. 11, Young Women General President Bonnie H. Cordon on Facebook shared a personal experience of her and her friend. It took place when she was a teenager living in Portugal while her father served as a mission president there and told the story in a two-part Facebook post.
President Cordon continued to tell the story on Dec. 13 and the lesson she learned about being a good receiver. She related this to Zacharias, who expressed concern after being informed he and his wife would have a child in their old age, but eventually aligned his will with God’s.
President Cordon wrote: “Sometimes we aren’t perfect at receiving from others and possibly even from God. But God isn’t invested in perfect persons. He’s invested in you and me.”
Again this week, President Cordon posted on Facebook on Dec. 15. She shared a recipe and testimony. “As we anxiously engage ourselves in the work of receiving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we will find it easier to receive all that He is — His servants, His holy house, the sacrament and any calling anywhere,” she wrote.
Elder Gary E. Stevenson on Dec. 15 posted about his and President Ballard’s recent time in Mexico City, Mexico. He tweeted, “There is an exciting future ahead for this land and the awe-inspiring people of faith who live here.”

He loves us that much.”

Brother Milton Camargo, first counselor in the Sunday School general presidency, posted on Facebook about this week’s “Come, Follow Me” study of Malachi in the Old Testament. On Dec. 15, he said, “We all have the opportunity to be purified in the Lord’s ‘refining fire’ as we go through the trials and challenges of this life and if we stay on the path of covenants made with God.”
Sister Rebecca L. Craven, second counselor in the Young Women general presidency, posted a video on Dec. 11 talking about ministering.
