Locals are being invited to come and see the inside of the newly renovated Hamilton New Zealand Temple through a series of new billboards.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Pacific Area tweeted on Aug. 8 with photos of four billboards.
Passersby in Auckland, Bay of Plenty and the Waikato will see photos of the temple with dates for the open house and the website where individuals can book reservations, HamiltonTemple.NZ.
In addition to booking a tour, visitors to the website can also read about the temple’s history, watch a video about temples and what happens inside, or read an article about why Latter-day Saints build temples.
The Hamilton New Zealand Temple closed in 2018 for a series of renovations, including seismic strengthening and upgrades to its mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. Other changes included a new roof and an accessible entrance to the baptistry. The inside furnishings, landscaping and parking lot also all received a refresh.
The First Presidency announced in April that after nearly four years of closure, the Hamilton temple will be rededicated Sunday, Oct. 16, by Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The public open house begins Friday, Aug. 26, and runs through Saturday, Sept. 17.
