October 2023 general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is 33 days away. It will be Saturday, Sept. 30, and Sunday, Oct. 1.
The October 2023 general conference is expected to have five sessions — morning, afternoon and evening sessions on Saturday and morning and afternoon sessions on Sunday.
October 2023 general conference preparations
If someone wanted to prepare by re-reading the talks from April 2023 general conference in order, one talk per day, he or she should start today, Aug. 28, to finish by Friday, Sept. 29.
The April 2023 conference featured 33 messages over the five sessions. President Russell M. Nelson, President of the Church, spoke two times. President Dallin H. Oaks, first counselor in the First Presidency, spoke in the Sunday afternoon session, and President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor in the First Presidency, spoke in the Saturday morning session.
Each member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke once, except for Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, who was excused.
President Nelson emphasized the need for peacemakers in today’s contentious society and announced the locations of 15 more temples to be built around the world.
Additionally, during the conference, members sustained five new General Authority Seventies, a new Young Women general presidency and a new Young Men general presidency counselor. On Aug. 1, the new Young Women presidency began its service, and three General Authority Seventies received emeritus status.
