Video: Relief Society leader honored for group’s work in ‘Blessing Women and Children’

‘When we invest in a woman, we have invested in and blessed a family in a community,’ says Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson

Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson was honored at the 2025 Sundance Institute Women’s Leadership Celebration, presented by Zions Bank, with the Global Service Leadership award.

President Johnson said she has traveled the world as part of her calling and has seen up close the efforts of the Church’s global initiative for women and children. The Relief Society was assigned by the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to lead this effort. It has subsequently blessed the lives of millions of women and children around the world.

In a new Church News video titled “Blessing Women and Children,” President Johnson talks about some of the ways she has seen communities blessed by the work done to help women and children in different parts of the world.

“We know that global progress really has to start with women and children because when we invest in a woman, we have invested in and blessed a family in a community and a nation,” she said. “And likewise, when we bless a child, we have invested in the future.”

President Johnson and her counselors, Sister J. Anette Dennis and Sister Kristin M. Yee will speak to sisters worldwide who comprise the Relief Society on March 16. Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will also speak during that event.
