Those interested in RootsTech get to choose how they want to participate in the 2023 event: online or in-person in Salt Lake City.
Registration for both options is open at RootsTech.org. The global family history gathering will be March 2-4, 2023.
To help participants learn more about the registration options and process, the RootsTech team held a live question-and-answer session on Facebook on Friday, Oct. 21. Jen Allen, director of events at FamilySearch, and Bryan Austad, who oversees the team developing the virtual platform for RootsTech, answered questions submitted by viewers worldwide.
In the 25-minute Q&A, Austad walked through the registration process step by step. The homepage on RootsTech.org provides an overview of what is included in the in-person and virtual experiences.
The virtual experience will continue to be free for everyone. The in-person experience will cost $98 — an all-inclusive pass for the three-day conference. Registering for the in-person option includes access to all the virtual content.
“There is a chance that we will sell out of RootsTech in Salt Lake City because we have a maximum capacity of people that we can fit ...,” Allen explained. “So if you’re thinking of coming, it would be wise to get your pass early.”
