Jesus Christ spent time teaching the people of Ancient America how they were a remnant of the House of Israel and would be gathered according to the covenant of the Father.
The Book of Mormon Videos episode released Friday, Nov. 18, depicts 3 Nephi 20–23, where the Savior taught of the gathering of Israel.
In the video, He begins by providing bread and wine miraculously, blessing the sacrament by praying unto the Father, and again administering the sacrament unto the people, one by one.
“He that eateth this bread eateth of my body to his soul; and he that drinketh of this wine drinketh of my blood to his soul; and his soul shall never hunger nor thirst, but shall be filled,” he said (3 Nephi 20:8).
After the people partake of the sacrament, the Savior speaks about the gathering of Israel and the teachings of the prophets.
He starts with Isaiah. “Ye remember that I spake unto you, and said that when the words of Isaiah should be fulfilled — behold they are written, ye have them before you, therefore search them —
“And verily, verily, I say unto you, that when they shall be fulfilled then is the fulfilling of the covenant which the Father hath made unto his people, O house of Israel” (3 Nephi 20:11-12).
Jesus also outlines how He is He of whom Moses, Samuel and all the other prophets have spoken and testified.
Jesus explains that He will establish the people in the land of the Americas and they will be brought to the knowledge of their Redeemer.
Calling up youth and children to stand with Him as He teaches the multitude, the Savior explains that “Ye are the children of the prophets; and ye are of the house of Israel; and ye are of the covenant which the Father made with your fathers, saying unto Abraham: And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed” (3 Nephi 20:25).
Many in the crowd can be seen sitting high on buildings where they can see, or around the Savior on the ground, reverently watching and listening to His teachings.
