MEXICO CITY, Mexico — Didn’t get tickets to the National Auditorium to see The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square and the Orchestra at Temple Square’s sold-out concert live?
People can still watch the concert on Saturday, June 17, 7:30 p.m. Mountain Time/Mexico Time in Mexico City, Mexico, as it will be streamed live on the choir’s YouTube channel.
Streaming the concert is one of several firsts for the choir and orchestra while on tour — a first where tickets were given out for free, a first one patterned at their Christmas concerts with guest artists and narrator, and a first to be livestreamed, including to stake centers, meetinghouses and homes.
The guest artists and narrator are singers Adassa and Alejandro “Alex” Melecio Figuera and radio host Mariano Osorio.
The concert is part of the choir and orchestra’s tour to Mexico City this week that also included a sacred music concert in the Cathedral of Toluca . The performances in Mexico are the first stop on a multiyear global tour.
The choir and orchestra will perform two concerts at the nearly 10,000-seat National Auditorium on June 17-18. The choir was last in Mexico in 1972 at an area general conference in the National Auditorium.
