Across social media this week, leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints bore witness of the Savior and His desire to help and bless all of God’s children.
President Dallin H. Oaks traveled to Brazil to dedicate the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple. In this post on Aug. 16, President Oaks wrote about the importance of temple work and its connection to God’s plan.
“Temples are essential to our Heavenly Father’s plan for His children. In these houses of the Lord we are taught the most important things we can learn and do in mortality and in the life that follows,“ he wrote.
In a post on Aug. 17, President D. Todd Christofferson, second counselor in the First Presidency, shared that God will provide miracles for his disciples according to His will.
“Miracles teach us that God, according to His purposes, timing, love and wisdom, will give us what we are prepared to receive,” he wrote.
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, shared a video in an Aug. 17 post of his most recent general conference address where he teaches about the risen Jesus Christ.
“The message of the risen Christ is that, with His strength, all obstacles can be overcome. Because Jesus Christ conquered death, surely He can conquer any danger, confusion or doubt we face. Jesus Christ is not found among the dead but among the living,” he said.
Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles wrote about his experience during the dedication ceremony of the Cleveland Ohio Temple in this Aug. 16 post.
“During the dedication of the Cleveland Ohio Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today, we were filled with gratitude to be in such close proximity to places where many foundational revelations were received and where early Latter-day Saints gathered to strengthen the Church in its infancy,” he wrote.
Sister Kristin M. Yee, second counselor in the Relief Society general presidency, spoke at the Utah Area YSA Conference about staying on the covenant path and trusting in God in this Aug. 16 post.
“If you are living your covenants, you are living ‘Plan A.’ There is no ‘Plan B’ for those who keep their covenants with God. As you follow Him, He will help you be in the places you need to be and to build the relationships that are needed in your life. Trust in His love and plan for you,” she wrote.
Elder Clark G. Gilbert of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared a video in an Aug. 18 post of his most recent general conference address sharing a story from President Oaks’ BYU devotional address and testified of the redeeming power of Jesus Christ.
“I witness that Christ is our Redeemer. When we fall short, He repairs the breaches in our lives. The Savior loves all of us and is tenderly calling for you and for me to come home,” he said.
In a collaboration post on Aug. 19 with the Young Women Worldwide account, Sister Tamara W. Runia, first counselor in the Young Women general presidency, talked about learning to trust in the Lord, even when life gets messy.
“When you feel discouraged, even depressed, worried that you’ll always struggle with the same weakness, I hope you’ll choose Christ. Stay with Him. Or when really hard stuff happens and life gets messy and you don’t understand, I pray you’ll lean on Christ,” she wrote.
In an Aug. 14 post, the Young Men Worldwide account posted a video of Young Men General President Timothy L. Farnes sharing an experience from his childhood where he bore his testimony to a friend and felt the power of the Holy Ghost.
