Elder Stevenson gave the personalized gifts during a National Governors Association meeting in Salt Lake City on Thursday, July 11.

Having learned Spanish as a young full-time missionary serving in Argentina, the Apostle expressed his testimony in Spanish in this Church News video.

Elder Patrick Kearon invited missionaries and newly called mission leaders to find joy in the gospel as they share it around the world.

Speaking to members of the Utah National Guard, Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles thanked them for their service, promised heavenly protection and encouraged all to be more welcoming and friendly to others.

Joining the Church can sometimes feel like walking through a maze for new converts, said Elder Neil L. Andersen, but it should feel more like walking through the temple.

“This meeting raises their vision. ... It illuminates areas in your mission that are going well or that may need improvement,” Elder Ronald A. Rasband said.

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf spoke at the 2024 Seminar for New Mission Leaders about conversion being a transformation through Jesus Christ.

Conversion to the gospel happens as missionaries and ward members invite their friends to sacrament meeting, Elder Stevenson told new mission leaders.

The degree to which missionaries turn outward in Christlike service to others defines the degree to which they are becoming His disciples, Elder Renlund taught new mission leaders.

“Teaching to build faith in Jesus Christ flows from our missionary purpose,” said Elder Gong during 2024 Seminar for New Mission Leaders.
